Appreciation and Help for Caregivers – During the Pandemic and Beyond

Being the caregiver for a loved one can be one of the most challenging, but also one of the most rewarding, things you can do. Because of the COVID pandemic, being a caregiver has become intensely challenging. Routine tasks have become more complicated. It sometimes seems like you're better off just staying at home - but eventually you at least need to go out to get food and medicine. And then there's the isolation - which may have been manageable for you before, but now it all feels far too stressful. For people who have only recently become caregivers, it's been a confusing and frustrating time.

Practically no one was prepared when we first began to hear about COVID and its effects in early March. Managing to make it day-to-day through the pandemic has been uncharted territory for us. The unknowns have caused us the kind of stress that many of us have never experienced before. Fortunately, in the months since we first learned of COVID, people have been working together to figure out ways to help make life better.
