155th Anniversary of The Battle of Gettysburg

July 1 – July 3 marks the 155th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg.  The battle had the largest number of casualties from the entire Civil War and is known as the turning point of the war.  General Robert E. Lee led the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia into Pennsylvania where they ran into the Union Army of the Potomac led by General George G. Meade.  After three days of fighting, General Meade and his army won the battle.  By the end, over 165,000 men fought and over 51,000 were killed, wounded, or captured from both sides.
