Adopting a pet is a big step, and choices are overwhelming at times. After you finish your pet research, consider adopting from the local parish shelter, St. Tammany Parish Government's Department of Animal Services, opens a new window. Adopting from this shelter helps provide room for new animals, and saves the lives of homeless pets.
Can't adopt right now? You can also volunteer, foster and donate to the shelter to assist in their mission to stay a no-kill shelter and be a beacon of hope for all pets who haven't found their fur-ever home yet.
