COVINGTON- The late Samuel Goodine was a frequent patron of the Mandeville Branch location of the St. Tammany Parish Library. His family said the library was a refuge for Samuel, whom they described as a, “…lifelong learner with a passion for music and for languages, particularly Spanish language and culture.” The family expressed sincere gratitude for the services provided by the library, and the many kindnesses shown to Samuel during his many visits. To honor the memory of their son, the Goodine family recently gifted a generous donation to the St. Tammany Library Foundation, and a portion of the funds were used to purchase and plant a Live Oak tree at the Mandeville Branch location.
This tree will be dedicated in honor of Samuel’s legacy, at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 4. Following the dedication, guests will enjoy light refreshments as well as entertainment by Spanish Guitarist Graham Guillory. All are invited to join in the celebration at the Mandeville Branch location, 844 Girod Street. See details at this link: bit.ly/MandevilleBranchTreeDedication.
