St. Tammany Parish Library October Events Updates
COVINGTON- The St. Tammany Parish Library will return to in-person events in several branches beginning October 1. Some programming will remain virtual, and some will remain a hybrid — in-person with a virtual option. All programming will be re-evaluated for the month of November.
Children’s Programming
School-aged programming will be a combination of virtual and in-person programming. Storytime Inside will take place at our six small branches — Abita Springs, Bush, Folsom, Lacombe, Lee Road, and Peral River, as well as two registered in-person Storytimes at the Slidell Branch. The remaining Storytime events will take place outside at the following locations: Covington Trailhead, Mandeville Trailhead, and the Madisonville Branch in the Walker Percy Serenity Circle. In addition, select branches will have drop-in and passive programming for children. The virtual Storytime and Music and Movement programs will continue. Teen Programming
In-person Teen Programming will happen during the month of October at the Slidell, Covington, South Slidell and Madisonville Branches. Passive programs for teens will also be available at those branches. We will continue to offer some virtual options, as well. October is also the celebration of TeenTober. Adult Programming
Adult programming will be a mix of in-person and virtual programming. Some craft programs will be in-person with a virtual option. Please see the website for individual program details. Book Clubs
Book Clubs at the following locations will meet in-person, outside for the month of October: The Abita Lit Wits, Abita Springs Branch and the Madisonville Book Club, Madisonville Branch.
The Lacombe Book Club at the Lacombe Branch, the Bush Book Beat Book Club at the Bush Branch, will meet in-person for the month of October. The Bush Book Beat will keep the option of meeting outside open, weather permitting. The Getting Cozy Book Club at the Covington Branch as well as the Chapter Chat Book Club at the Slidell Branch, will be a hybrid of in-person and virtual for the month of October.
Books Clubs from the following branches will meet virtually in October: The Mandeville Book Club, the Owl Diaries Book Club for children, Mandeville branch; the Pageturners from the Slidell Branch; and the Readabouts from the South Slidell Branch.
