St. Tammany Parish Library asking for Community Input During Strategic Planning Process
The St. Tammany Parish Library is asking residents to complete a Community Input Survey as part the Strategic Plan for Service process. The survey is available to the entire St. Tammany community either to complete online at www.sttammanylibrary.org, opens a new window, or by hand any one of our 12 branch locations, and return to library staff. This is part of the St. Tammany Parish Library’s (STPL) strategic planning process announced in the Summer of 2021.
“During this phase of our Strategic Plan for Service, we look forward to a robust community response so that we can shape and refine the future path for the St. Tammany Parish Library to continue to serve our patrons’ and future patrons’ needs,” said Kelly LaRocca, Director, St. Tammany Parish Library.
Carson Block Consultants, and St. Tammany Parish Library leadership have conducted preliminary interviews with stakeholders, and local government, community, and business leaders. During this next phase, input from library staff, as well as the public will be gathered.
STPL staff has completed strategic planning meetings and undergone focus group training. Staff will begin conducting focus groups within the coming weeks. Information on how to participate in focus groups will also be posted on the STPL website — www.sttammanylibrary.org, social media channels, and in branch locations.
The data gathered through community research will be utilized to identify several key metrics including: aspirations of the community; strategic areas of focus, obstacles and opportunities; and potential library service strategies. The planning process will culminate with the creation of the Strategic Plan containing actionable and attainable library service goals, activities and objectives for the short, medium and long-term future.
