COVINGTON- The Slidell, Causeway, and Mandeville branches of the St. Tammany Parish Library will open Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 9 a.m. – 5p.m. Patrons are welcome to visit these locations to use the telephones, fax machines, and copy machines. Fees are waived for faxes. In addition, patrons are welcome to cool off in the air conditioning and utilize the electricity to charge their devices. All branches are still awaiting the restoration of internet services. Book drops for these locations will be available. Patrons will be able to check items out in the open branches. Digital collections are available. Fines are not being charged at this time. Open branches will have limited staff. All scheduled events are cancelled through September 12, 2021.
The remainder of the St. Tammany Parish Library branches are being assessed daily. St. Tammany Parish Library administration is waiting on available staff, the return of power, the restoration of the internet, and the repair to the damage of the Madisonville Branch to fully reopen all branches.
