The Teen Department’s Ms. Jennifer, Miss Abby and Miss Charlene, along with the rest of the library staff, are looking forward to seeing teens ages 12 to 18 for the ROCK IT! Workshop Events scattered across the library branches during July. These workshops, led by your Rock Star Librarians, are why Libraries ROCK! From Do-It-Yourself crafts to fun challenges and music is the focus:
- Join us for Sticker by Number Art where you will listen to the tunes of 3 musical icons whose images you will create with stickers in this Bob Ross-esque workshop !
- Bling out some DIY speakers and earbud holders while your librarian DJ plays your favorite songs!
- Learn the history of the electric guitar and then let your creative juices flow with 3 different guitar crafts, including making shrinky dink guitar picks, in our Guitar Workshop!
- Discover how Punk Rock came into existence and then create your very own punk pet rock, complete with a mohawk!
- Relax with classical musical while designing cool artwork using sheet music at our Sheet Music Art Workshops.
Not crafty but still love music? Bring a friend and chill at our movie matinees with free movies and popcorn. Are you a fan of Hamilton? Before the musical Hamilton, there was 1776! Join us on July 3 and watch the nation's fathers harmonize their way through the founding of America in this musical adapted from a popular Broadway show.
