Libraries rock and we want our patrons to rock too!
Everyone who participates in the Summer Reading Challenge will be given a kazoo. We are asking everyone to learn one song, We Will Rock You by Queen. (It is only necessary to learn the chorus.) Then, at the end of Summer Reading, we will all get together and jam!
Each branch library will host a Rock Around the Clock jam session on Monday, July 16, taking turns on each hour of the day. Bring your kazoo and get ready to perform with your friends, family and neighbors. If you play another instrument, you are welcome to bring it. (No baby grand pianos please.) No registration is required. No refreshments will be served.
Kids are invited to bring their kazoos to library programs for practice sessions before and after activities. We also have a video tutorial available that explains how to play the kazoo, how to take care of it, and how to play the chorus for We Will Rock You.
