Get an introduction to the history of author Mary Shelley from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, at the South Slidell Branch.
Presenter Amanda Jacob will discuss Shelley’s influence on timeless questions regarding man, creation and the nature of science as well as her novel Frankenstein and the lasting impact her work has had on monster novels, television, and movies.
Jacob earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Southeastern Louisiana University immediately followed by her master’s degree also from SLU. While her specialty is Modern American Drama she holds a deep love of Tennessee Williams, but her secret passion is horror novels and crime dramas. She has taught English composition and literature courses for the past ten years. She is excited to share her love of Mary Shelley!
