In a unanimous decision, the St. Tammany Parish Library Board of Control has selected Kelly LaRocca to be the library’s new director.
“The Library Board is delighted to appoint Kelly LaRocca as the library’s new director. Her performance as both assistant director and interim director have shown her ability to confidently lead the library into the future,” said board president Becky Taylor.
LaRocca has worked for the St. Tammany Parish Library for 14 years. She served as reference librarian, branch manager and assistant director prior to becoming interim director in March of 2018.
“I am truly grateful for the Board’s confidence in my ability to lead our library system. It has been a privilege to serve St. Tammany for more than a decade and I look forward to continuing that service in this new role,” said LaRocca.
LaRocca received her Masters of Library and Information Science degree from Louisiana State University in 2001.
Previous director Donald Westmoreland retired last March after serving nine years in the position.
