Each year school's and libraries across the nation celebrate Read Across America Day on March 3rd. This annual celebration commemorates the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss, who was born on March 3rd, 1904 with the given name Theodor Seuss Geisel. At STPL, our libraries and librarians mark the day with special book displays, visits to schools, and of course, Birthday Party Themed storytimes! Read on to see the full list of special Dr. Seuss themed programs on or near March 3rd.
No registration is required for any of our Dr. Seuss Celebration events. Certain events will be serving cake and/or lemonade (see details below). If the event you wish to attend is serving food, please inform the library branch of any food allergies at least one week in advance. We are happy to make accommodations for you. Please note that for your child's safety, children ages 9 and under may not be left unattended at any St. Tammany Parish Library.
