It's officially Fall! Of course, it doesn't necessarily feel like it in southeast Louisiana yet. Either way, I like to usher in this time of year in with author visits and celebrations of the season. The Louisiana Book Festival takes place at the state capital this year on Saturday, October 28th and we've got four official author programs scheduled. We'll be enjoying the last two concerts of the annual Friends of the Slidell Library concert series this month with Vive la Quintet! and harpist Jessica Meltz. In past years, I've focused on Halloween lectures, but this year I'm excited to bring you a program about Dia de Los Muertos which is celebrated from October 31 through November 2nd. Last but not least, I've sprinkled in some gardening, money, and craft programs for you as well. As always, I hope you find something you like and learn from in the variety of programs planned for adults.
