Adults Can Read, Watch & Learn From Home

by Jillian Boudreaux, Adult Programming Coordinator

Adapting to the new normal has presented a learning curve for all of us.  While the physical libraries are closed, we are offering many virtual options to keep you entertained, educated, and hopefully sane during this time of uncertainty.

The Adult Programs page of our website has been revamped to provide you with websites that feature similar content to the programs we normally schedule.  There are celebrity book recommendations (book clubs), musical performances (video performances of bands that the Friends of Slidell Library fall concerts have featured) plus free streaming opera and symphony performances.  We have also found free downloads of adult coloring pages, free streaming art lessons from places like the Modern Museum of Art and virtual exhibits from local and national museums (art and craft classes).  There are some guided meditations and mindfulness links (yoga and tai chi) as well.  Gardening and more program themed links are on the way!

In addition, the library’s social media platforms are regularly being updated with content from all of the programming departments – Children’s, Teens, and Adults.  We hope everyone is doing well and finding all of these resources helpful!

We welcome your respectful and on-topic comments and questions in this limited public forum. To find out more, please see Appropriate Use When Posting Content. Community-contributed content represents the views of the user, not those of St. Tammany Parish Library
