All St. Tammany Parish Libraries are public buildings. Pictures of patrons may be taken to use for print literature, in video format, or online for promotional purposes. If a patron does not want to be photographed during an event, they should indicate that to staff at the time of the event.
Under the First Amendment, it is legal for anyone to photograph or videotape anything and anyone on any public property, within reasonable community standards (ie. in plain view).
However, we do have a Media Release form for group photos if your name or your minor children's names could be shared with social media, the press, and other media.
